My wife hates it, but I like to dig through other peoples garbage. Well not dig through their cans, but if they put something on the curb that looks interesting I’ll stop and take a look at it. Sometimes I’ll take it home with me.

I’ve accumulated a lot of other peoples garbage over the years. Most of it in the hopes of doing something with it some day.

Old windows to make a green house. Speakers to disassemble and reuse. Lots of computers, if someone offers me one it’s an automatic yes. If I see one getting tossed or set out to recycle I grab it. I must have 12 various computers some working, some not around the house. They will all be used for something someday.

Someone, a couple houses away has been renting a dumpster several times this past year. Coming home from a walk there looked like some good stuff in there but it was getting dark, so I said I’ll look at it tomorrow. Well tomorrow came and a truck showed up to haul it off before I could get a look inside. Oh well, maybe next time.

The second dumpster showed up and I didn’t think anything about it again until I saw some stuff near the top. I told my wife to stop and I was going to look inside. First thing I saw was a couple computer towers and a monitor, I was definitely jumping in later in the evening.

To be continued…

Signed up for Spofity today. The new music streaming, sharing service that isn’t available in the United States yet. I was able to sign up and use the application even though I live in the U.S.

The service seems very nice, something like the Zune Marketplace, I think. You can search for tracks, add them to playlists and listen to them all you want. There is a lot of music, but not everything. I wasn’t able to find many songs from Dave Matthews.

All in all it is another music alternative to have on your computer. With Pandora, Slacker, and Last.fm also to choose from there should be something to listen to all of the time.

Can’t find a theme that I can modify to suit me needs and my design vision. I had a simple theme years ago that was easy to add images and adjust the content, now I’m just not finding something like that. I don’t have the time to create a theme from scratch, owning my own small business and doing everything myself, along with a family takes up all of my time.

I also just need to start posting something regularly, even if it’s anything that’s on my mind, just to find the sites direction.

I’m going to start posting at DeviantArt more. Mostly photoshop brushes and photo textures. So those will be on the way in the near future.

Well I’ve tried Drupal and I’ve tried Joomla. Sorry guys you just not something I can pick up and learn on my own. If I can be comfortable using something right from the beginning, there will be nothing but frustration.

I really wanted to use one of the other blog/CMS systems out there. I’ve used wordpress before and although very nice, I wasn’t sure how flexible it would be. It has been a couple of years since erniesthings was used.

Again this blog will always be a work in progress. Things my not change drastically, but things may never stay the same.

This site will be about the things this (currently 2010) late 30 something is interested in. I will keep the random rantings to a minimum. Most stuff will be about home improvement, video games, some news commentary, some reviews, maybe some art or photography, and a whole lot of other crap.

Hope you enjoy.
